Great photo spots: Londsdale Quay, North Vancouver

Happy Friday FCI readers! Today we’re writing about a great spot in Vancouver for photo taking, Londsdale Quay! Surprisingly we have yet to have a North Vancouver wedding or photoshoot! If you’ve never been to the Quay, it’s a great place to check out. If you like Granville Island or New Westminster Quay, this is a happy medium. It is a bit smaller than Granville Island but bigger than New West. To get there by transit you do have to take the sea bus which I find exciting and different from everyday transit trips.

Umbrellas

This was a neat little patio by the park. I still can’t figure out exactly what it is. My senses tell me it is a restaurant of some type however on Google Maps it comes up as a furniture and design store.

Fresh Strawberries

You can find lots of fruit, meat and candy vendors as well as home craft stands. It’s vibrant colours make for great indoor shots!

Vancouver skyline

Out along the entrance of the pier, there is a great view of the city skyline and a nice walk way with some greenery.

As you walk out from the market away from the seabus terminal, there is an old train ticket stand it looks like that has been maintained with fresh paint but still holds a great rustic feel.

If trees and grass aren’t you’re style, the pier leads on towards more industrial type scenery with lots of benches.

Londsdale Quay has lots of great spots for awesome photos with both grassy green tones as well as more metallic and industrial settings!

Mike’s Proposal to Bonney on Quarry Rock in Deep Cove

Our photographer, Jamie, hiked all the way up to Quarry Rock with her camera on her back to capture the beautiful proposal of this super outdoorsy-athletic couple Mike and Bonny.

As Bonny tells the story; she knew something was funny when Mike picked her up in jeans and had a backpack for a hike. “Mike never wear pants! And definitely doesn’t bring a pack on a short hike!” she said.

Nanaimo Engagement Photography – Nicole & Pat

engagement photography nanaimo

The weather looked iffy…

but I jumped on a ferry and headed over to Nanaimo to get some engagement photos of Nicole and Patrick. We were scheduled to take photos at 4pm, but at 3:30

black nasty clouds rolled in.

I called them up and we decided to reschedule for the next weekend. But just as I was packing up my things to go back to Vancouver,

the clouds broke and it was blue skies!

I quickly called them and told them I would take the later ferry. They live right by Neck Point Park, in Nanaimo and spend a lot of time down there with their dog.

It was the perfect spot to take their engagement session photos.
