Babies are amazing. Each one so different, so every photo session we do with them is always different.

This was an interesting Cake Smash session, because Yorika seemed to actually be afraid of the cake! We put place her down behind the cake, like we typically do (and normally the 1 year olds go after the cake right away), but Yorika would start crying and crawl to her mom immediately.

We tried everything: Mom and Dad showed her how to eat the cake. Then we cut a piece out of the cake. We took a break, and let her play with her favourite book on the couch…. nothing was working!

Then we figured out she must not like the white floor drop. So we got rid of that, and Yorkia finally let go of her mom, she took one taste of the icing, and didn’t seem to be into it, so she just started smashing the cake to pieces!

So took a lot of patience, and problem solving, but we all finally had a good time!

Once again When Pigs Fly Pastries nailed it with this amazing vegan smash cake! Yup! She can do that!
The adorable tutu was purchased from She’s a Miracle - a local mom with an amazing story, who uses her baby accessory company to give back to the BC Children’s hospital.
